Description

Compiled over many years by a devoted collector, the presented assortment of over 7100 cards provides a thorough collection of Hall of Famers and stars. This offering features an appealing 1935 Diamond Stars #50 Ott (EX-MT), a 1957 Topps Big Blony Checklist 1/2 (EX, unmarked), an off-to-mid grade 1959 Fleer Ted Williams partial set (60/80) and a framed 1961 Post Cereal Company Sheet #19-33. The 1961 Post Cereal sheet contains ten cards of the Chicago White Sox including three Hall of Famers (Aparacio, Fox, and Wynn) that presents (NM) but is marred by inexplicable tape markings on the reverse. Other featured pieces include the following cards 1951 Bowman #232 N. Fox (EX), 1953 Topps #37 Mathews (EX), 1956 Topps #10 Spahn (EX), (2) 1959 Topps #338 S. Anderson (EX, VG-EX), 1965 Topps #16 Morgan RC (EX-MT), (2) 1975 Topps #223 Robin Yount RC (EX-MT), 1975 Topps #228 George Brett RC (EX-MT), (4) 1979 Topps #116 Ozzie Smith RC (2 NM, 2 EX-MT) and a 1981 TCMA Rochester Red Wings Cal Ripken (NR-MT). Various vintage card lots accentuate this offering with (6) 1950s Bowman (mostly VG-EX), (31) 1950s Topps (mostly VG-EX), (53) 1960 Topps (mostly EX to EX-MT) and (17) 1962-1978 Topps star cards (mostly EX to NM). Several team photo sets from the early 1960s round out the collection; included are (2) Jay Publishing 1961 New York Yankees 5x7 photo sets with Mantle and Maris (NM) and a sealed early 1960s New York Yankees 8x10 color photo team set with facsimile signatures that includes Mantle (NR-MT). A small football representation includes a 1970 Topps Posters Inserts near set (22/24, missing #6 and 18) in overall (EX), plus a 1984 Topps #63 John Elway (EX-MT).
