The assembled collection consists of (63) different New Service wire-photos from the early 1950s. While a vast array of teams are present, all but half-a-dozen or so feature Dodgers, Giants, Yankees or a combination thereof. Generally very appealing with middle to upper-middle grade fronts, the lot is highlighted by examples, and often multiple different shots, of Berra, a handful of Campanella, Conlon, Furillo, Hodges, Mantle (6/8/52), Martin, Reese, Rizzuto, J. Robinson, Stengel and many more. Some key photos include Berra/Campanella, Berra/Snider, Mathews/Reese and Martin/Rizzuto/Snider, with many more featuring multiple stars and Hall of Famers. Absolutely crammed with legendary New Yorkers, this wire photo lot will elegantly enhance any vintage baseball collection. While many are detached, it should be noted that (47) of the photos have the original paper text, while the remaining (16) have texts printed to the fronts. Three photos are 5x7, while the rest are 7x9.
