Offered is a simply amazing collection of news service wire-photos, most of which hail from playoff clinching series or the World Series from 1951 and 1952. Considering the years, there is obviously a concentration of New York squads, as the Yanks played the Dodgers and Giants in 1951 and 1952 respectively. With all but two displaying detached but included text-sheets, these attractive wire photos will appease even the strictest of New York collectors. The lot contains 1951 World Series (12) including Bauer, Berra, (2) DiMaggio, Durocher, McDougald, Mize and Rizzuto; 1952 World Series (3) including Black/Dressen/Reese/Robinson/Snider, Campanella/Robinson and a Dodgers double-play shot. The lot also contains (6) wire-photos from the last series of the 1951 campaign, which determined whether the Dodgers or Giants would play the Yankees in the World Series as well as a miscellaneous shot of Reese/Robinson tagging out Frank Thomas. An impressive collection of 7x9 photos to say the least.
