Description

For the astute historian of the game, Walter Johnson was the most prolific pitcher ever to lace up a pair of metal spikes and take the bump. The gentlemanly “Big Train,”, whose stoic, unassuming presence on the mound was belied by the fury unleashed from his right arm, was a master on the mound, compiling a career mark of 417 victories against 279 losses for a sub-.500 team. Offered is a superior example of a Walter Johnson (d.1946) cut that has been authenticated by PSA and graded a solid PSA 9. Directly above this wonderful black ink signature is the salutation ”Best Wishes” that is as clean and clear as the autograph. Collectors will be hard pressed to find a more attractive Walter Johnson signature, so do not miss this opportunity.
