The “Midsummer Classic,” originally created to help club owners promote baseball during the Great Depression, has evolved into one of the most popular events in sport. Presented is a collection of eleven vintage All-Star game programs including the hard-to-find 1935 publication. The programs included are as follows: Scored: 1935 (VG with a loose center page), 1953 (FR, considerable markings on interior pages), 1955 (VG-EX), 1963 (EX), 1968 (EX-MT with original mailing envelope), 1971 (EX with several newspaper clippings affixed to the interior pages); Unscored: 1950 (FR, water damage and cut-out on cover), 1951 (GD, water damage), 1959 (EX), 1962 (EX) and 1976 (NM). Within the interior pages of these programs are images and biographies of some of the greatest players in the game’s history including Gehrig, Foxx, Mantle, Williams, Mays, Williams and Robinson.
