Organized in 1935 by a group of college football enthusiasts, the Washington Touchdown Club is a charity organization that annually recognizes and awards exemplary professional, college and scholastic athletes. Presented is a 17” diameter silver plate awarded by the club to Phil Rizzuto for his 1950 MVP season. The center inscription on this award reads “The Touchdown Club of Washington Award to the Outstanding Baseball Player of 1950 Phil Rizzuto”. This piece is accompanied by a letter of provenance from Rizzuto’s wife.
