Connie Mack’s revered reign over the Philadelphia Athletics still holds great significance in the MLB record books, and presented is a spectacular ball signed by the late manager (d.1956). Mack’s blue ink signature on the sweet spot is large, legible and clear and grades a near perfect (“9”). The OAL Harridge ball, which dates between 1941 and 1945 during William Harridge’s tenure as American League president, grades a (“5”) and reveals some smudge marks and toning throughout the panels. This scarce chance to own a beautiful piece from one of baseball’s most beloved characters should not be overlooked. A full LOA and reference sticker from JSA accompanies this auction item.
