Most cinephiles will recall the scene from Dead Poet’s Society when professor John Keating, played by actor Robin Williams, walked his students through the halls past the group of team photographs enshrined at the school and said "Listen real close, you can hear them whisper their legacy to you. ... Hear it? Carpe. Carpe Diem. Seize the day, boys. Make your lives extraordinary." It is that conviction that is present in the offered 1893 University of Michigan Law School baseball team. This large 21x17” imperial cabinet photo features the 10-man Michigan Law baseball team, champions of the Michigan campus for 1893. The image is clean with mild foxing present on the upper half of the piece. Players aside, the image features several baseballs, three bats and a pair of gloves along with the U of M Champion Class banner in the background. The cabinet photograph has been framed to the overall dimensions of 29-1/2 x 25-1/2” in a vintage arts-and-crafts wooden frame.
