The Hillerich and Bradsby Company has been turning bats for baseball players for nearly 125 years, ever since producing several bats for the 19th-century slugger Pete Browning in 1884. No brand, no manufacturer has unleashed more turned white ash weapons into the major leagues than the H&B label, Louisville Slugger. As the most recognizable name in the industry, Louisville Slugger has been the preferred brand for the greatest players in the game, and the offered 66 Babe Ruth model display bat is just one of the many historical pieces produced by the company. The oversized relic, which features the familiar logo and stampings, is constructed of lightweight wood and remains hollow. Produced sometime in the 1960s for use in sporting good stores that sell the treasured lumber, this huge Babe Ruth bat has few faults for its size and will display as nicely as it did decades ago. There are several indentations, nicks and surface abrasions that barely detract from the overall beauty of the bat. Due to the size/volume of this item, shipping and handling may be substantial.
