After having several stellar high school and minor league seasons under his belt, Moses “Chief” Yellowhorse was an excellent pitching prospect when he joined the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1921. His debut during this year made Yellowhorse the first full-blooded Native American in Major League history. However, his friendship with Rabbit Maranville led to an introduction to booze, and his career was cut painfully short as he suffered from injuries allegedly caused by drunken mishaps. Presented is a 1922 Exhibits card of this infamous player that has been graded EX-MT 6 by PSA. According to the PSA registry, only (4) examples have been graded with none higher than this fantastic relic. This highly collectable item is a great piece with a tragic story.
