Presented is a complete set of (144) R41 Dick Tracy trading cards accompanied by an original one-cent wax wrapper. Issued by the Walter Johnson Candy Company in Chicago in 1937, the series is based upon Chester Gould’s famous character. This colorful and bold pre-war cartoon issue tells fantastic stories, card-by-card, as Tracy tracks down and nabs despicable gangsters and villains. The composite breakdown for this set is approximately 10% (EX or better), 35% (VG-EX) and 35% (VG) and 20% (GD or lesser). The wax wrapper shows some decay on the lower right corner, but the pack front that features Dick Tracy and Junior together is clean and is great accoutrement to this fantastic set. For any vintage non-sport card collector, this is a great opportunity to own an entertaining set.
