There are three players offered in this lot—one set a new standard for pitching dominance; one eclipsed a hitting milestone thought untouchable, and the last would change the face of baseball forever. Though on the surface it might seem Jackie Robinson, Pete Rose and Nolan Ryan did not tread the same professional paths, each made immeasurable contributions to the game of baseball. Presented are the rookie cards of each diamond hero. The 1949 Bowman #50 Robinson RC has an amazing overall appearance with sharp corners and vivid color that overshadow the minute ink spot at the top and it being off-center, which relegate its technical grade to (VG-EX). The 1963 Topps #537 Rose RC has the same near mint eye appeal but is also off-center with sparse corner wear with a technical grade of (EX). The 1968 Topps #177 Nolan Ryan grades (GD) do to a heavy vertical crease.
