In 1939, C.C. Beck and Bill Parker created the character Captain Marvel, and a year later the word Shazam was being spoken by young and old alike. The comic was a huge success until in 1953 DC comics sued the publishers for infringement based on the similarities between Captain Marvel and Superman. There have been variations to the Marvel character throughout the years, but one thing has remained—a popularity that has never ceased. Presented is a 1941 Fawcett Publications Captain Marvel #3 graded (CGC 4.5). This rare book has brilliant color with excellent eye-appeal.
