For the better part of 20 seasons, James Emory (Jimmie) Foxx wreaked havoc on American League pitching staffs despite being overshadowed by his New York contemporaries. Known affectionately or with trepidation as “The Beast”, the Maryland slugger was a generous man to his loving fans off the field. The offered Jimmie Foxx single-signed baseball is a scarcely seen example of this 1951 Hall of Fame inductee. The non-descript baseball was penned by Foxx (d.1967) across the sweet spot with the autograph grading a (“7”). The impressive period blue ink signature is veiled by an extensively soiled and worn baseball. Faded and illegible writing also appears on several other panels. Despite the condition of the ball, securing any genuine single-signed Foxx baseball is a feat. The autograph comes with an LOA from PSA/DNA.
