Presented is a neat lot of (5) different pieces from the 1930s, each representing a World Series memento. Three of the items are from the classic 1937 Series that featured Joe DiMaggio, Lou Gehrig and the New York Yankees against Mel Ott, Carl Hubbell and the New York Giants. 1.) 1937 World Series Official 24-page game program from Game 2, played at Yankee Stadium. The scorecard has been neatly scored in pencil, showing the 8-1 Yankee victory. The program grades (VG-EX) despite the middle page being removed from the staple binding (but still present). 2.) A 1937 Dell Magazine (34-pages) titled, "World Series for 1937" with Joe DiMaggio on the cover. Incredible content with a Ruth vs. DiMaggio breakdown and individual photographs and bios of many stars of the era. The publication grades (GD) and is complete, but a significant tear through the front cover and first two pages keeps the overall grade down. Still readable and presentable. 3.) "1937 New York Mirror Yanks, Giants, Dodgers Guide" by Segar, Zeltner & Smith. This 120-page, 3-1/2 x 6" paperback publication is listed as a "first edition" and features photos, stats and bios from virtually every player of New York's three great baseball teams of 1937. 4.) 1936 New York Yankees George Burke black and white team photo. This terrific looking item measures 6-1/4 x 4" and features three rows of players and last name identifications below. DiMaggio in his rookie season, Gehrig, McCarthy, Dickey, Crosetti, Lazzeri and more are pictured on this blank backed heavier-stock photo. The only marking on the reverse is a small red "5" stamped in the bottom right corner. This could be an early 2nd generation photo, but the image is crystal clear and displays as a beautiful, crease-free original. 5.) 1931 World Series ticket stub from Game 5, played at Shibe Park in Philadelphia. This game was a 5-1 victory for the visiting St. Louis Cardinals over Connie Mack's Philadelphia Athletics. The stub is off-grade with corner wear, creasing and 1-1/2" paper tear from the bottom up to the middle. It is still a presentable and unique collectible from this memorable 7-game series. An outstanding collection of tough-to-find pieces from 70+ years ago.
