Description

This quartet of 1960s Washington Senators bobble heads is a coup for the beltway aficionado. Each “boy mascot" nodder was produced in Japan at different times during the 1960s. Included are 1.) 1961-1963 White Base Washington Senators bobble head. This display pieces measures approximately 6-1/2” in height and comes with a white square base. The Washington decal is intact, while only microscopic specs of chipping are found on the cap and emblem. The back of the head reveals only a single blue marking; 2.) 1961-1962 Mini Series Washington Senators nodder. This scarce piece measures approximately 4-1/2” in height and stands on a white oval base. The city decal is intact but lightly chipped on the “N” in Washington. Additionally, the face also reveals moderate chipping around the cheeks, mouth and chin. The remainder of this colorful piece displays only negligible wear and soiling; 3.) 1962-1965 Green Base Series Washington Senators bobbin’ head. This relic measures approximately 6-1/2” in height and comes with a green oval base. The city decal is lightly chipped on the “I” in Washington, while the team decal is moderately chipped on the “T” and “O” in Senators. This piece otherwise boasts incredible color and insignificant cap and uniform wear; 4.) 1966-1971 Gold Base Washington Senators bobble head. This beauty measures approximately 6-1/2” in height on a gold oval base. This “no hat emblem” variation is extremely difficult to find. The “O” in Washington displays the slightest hint of chipping, while the left ear and back of the head reveal minor markings and a single surface abrasion. The remainder of this stunning piece has incredible color and striking visual appeal.
