The day was April 8, 1974, and the Los Angeles Dodgers headed to Atlanta to battle the hometown Braves. While many do not remember the final score of this game or Bill Bucknerís valiant effort, nearly jumping over the outfield wall, no one can forget Hank Aaron blasting his 715th homerun off Al Downing, making him baseballís Homerun King. Presented is a stunning ring produced by renowned jewelers Herff Jones commemorating this milestone event. The 10k gold ring was a prototype used by the company to tweak details before eventually awarding it to Aaron. One of only a couple different prototypes are known to exist; this beautiful NM-MT ring reads Hammerin Hank on the head with an image of Fulton County Stadium, while the left and right shank display a dual-action shot and a 715 laden team logo, respectively. Bearing a 10k stamp and a magnificent appearance, this one-of-a-kind prototype is amongst the most appealing and fashion-savvy Aaron pieces to have surfaced in quite some time.
