By his third full season in New York, Babe Ruth was already such a sensation that the American Caramel Company of Pennsylvania began printing tribute cards to him. The subjects ranged from the “Bambino” appearing with a bird to the offered 1922 E121 American Caramel Babe Ruth photo montage. This innovative card has been judged a VG-EX 4 by PSA and given an additional (mk) qualifier for minor pencil indentations on the reverse. The mid-grade specimen hails from the Series of 120 and reveals a pair of spider creases along with slightly askew centering. This early Ruth/Yankees card is otherwise clean and is a fine black and white addition to any pre-war gathering.
