Ideal for the high-end, die-hard Brooklyn Dodgers collector, presented is amongst the rarest of photographs picturing one of the more popular Bums squads. The 1952 chapter included a National League Championship and a slew of Hall of Famers and All-Stars. The presented Verna period team photo is extremely limited, as the specimens were only issued to members of the Brooklyn squad. Verna produced these player-issued photos for only a few campaigns with the 1952 squad seemingly the rarest. Depicting the likes of Billy Herman, Duke Snider, Pee Wee Reese, Roy Campanella and the incomparable Jackie Robinson, the bottom border displays facsimiled plate-signatures in the likeness of each Brooklyn son. With a snow-white background and crystal clear registration, the photograph, which has been neatly framed and matted to total dimensions of 26x19, displays no obtrusive imperfections, though the slightest of hairlines is present. Lesser examples of this photograph have sold for $1300-$3000 and this particular one may be the finest to surface in a long time.
