Assembled are (6) unused official baseballs from 1909-1950 manufactured for Major and minor league play. The 1909-1914 Goldsmith Official League Ball is new in its original sealed box, and the packaging grades (VG-EX) with tape repairs and several tears. The date of this item has been narrowed down from the listing of the short-lived Wisconsin-Illinois League on the paper seal. Two new balls from Spalding in their boxes are also included in this offering, a 1937-60 Official Eastern League Richardson (box EX) and a 1936-1960 Official International League Shaughnessy (box EX with open/slightly torn top) in an ONL Giles box. A well maintained 1940s-1950s Wilson Official Pacific Coast League A1010 (sealed box NM) is offered in its white and red container. Also included are a 1940s Reach OAL Harridge and a Goldsmith Official League 97 manufactured after the company merged with MacGregor. Both of these balls are wrapped in clean original paper packaging and contain their original seals. The OAL Harridge seal reveals tape stains, writing and has been repaired with tape. The seal on the Goldsmith Official League 97 is partially detached from the paper. This lot is also accompanied by a “pop-up” Christmas greeting card (EX) that contains a Buick and Pontiac advertising rhyme. The card shows team emblems from the Athletics and Tigers. The inside of the card is clean and the back middle panel has glue residue.
