Long before the Carmine-hosed warriors of Cincinnati ever stepped onto the diamond against the Black Sox of Chicago in 1919, this interesting team-issued souvenir yearbook was published for the fans of that great team. The 48-page book features full page biographies of twenty-three players and manager Pat Moran. Each player's page is on the right side and includes a colorized portrait of the player with each left page displaying a contemporary advertisement. Other notable players include Ed Roush, Earl "Greasy" Neale (NFL HOFer), Jake Daubert, Heinie Groh, Sherry Magee and Jimmy Ring. The yearbook does feature light pencil markings on the player's pages with most referring to the year the player left the Cincinnati Reds team. There are a pair of tape repairs along the spine of this 4-1/4 x 6-1/2 publication with a one-inch piece at the upper corner and a three-inch piece covering the bottom half of the spine. The overall condition of this pub is (VG-EX) with the noted faults. This interesting artifact should tantalize the taste buds of all baseball fans, especially those who collect the items from the Black Sox Scandal.
