A fine specimen to say the least, offered is an impressive Boston Red Sox road uniform worn during the 1974 campaign by should-be Hall of Famer Jim Rice. A milestone year for Rice, he would be named ROY, MVP and Triple Crown winner for the International League (AAA) before being called up to play a scant (24) games at the end of the Sox’s 1974 campaign. Due to lack of at-bats in the 1974 campaign, Rice would technically be a rookie the following season, seemingly making this one of the only, if not the only, 1974 specimen from Rice available. The knit pullover jersey features maker, year and size tagging on the inside tail, produced by McAuliffe in 1974 (size 44). The team lettering and player number on the reverse are double tackle twill and, according to MEARS, there are no team repairs or alterations. Displaying nice wear as per MEARS and moderate usage, the impressive jersey was deemed an A10 and is accompanied by a Letter of Opinion from MEARS.
