Description

For the “City of Brotherly Love”, the Philadelphia Athletics and Phillies have reigned supreme for more than a century. This baseball collectibles lot is a fine representation of those beloved American and National League squads. Each signed item is penned in black or blue ink and presents quite well. Highlights include 1.) dated 1929 Philadelphia Athletics yearbook from the World Championship season which features penciled likenesses of Cochrane, Grove, Foxx and Simmons on the relatively clean inner pages. The binding is loose with two loose pages, and the covers grade (GD) with light pencil writing; 2.) 11/16/29 La Presse Montreal 1929 Philadelphia Athletics colorful newspaper profile (framed and matted, 14x21, VG); 3.) 4/21/49 Philadelphia Junior Chamber of Commerce 4/21/49 certificate of appreciation to Connie Mack (framed and matted, 15x24, EX-MT); 4.) 6/22/64 Philadelphia Enquirer sports page signed by Bunning (“8”, framed and matted, 19-1/2 x 28-1/2, perfect game); 5.) 6/12/71 Phillies vs. Padres original artwork signed by (10) Phillies including Bunning (“8”, others “8-9”, red ink, 17x11, EX) and 6.) circa 1991 Phillies No-Hitters of Modern Times print with (4) signatures including Bunning (“8”, 22x34).
